Michael Carrick
Doing half decent job at Middlesbrough. Wonder if he could be persuaded if Moyes got the elbow.

Re: Michael Carrick
He would need to fill the criteria that Sullivan demands
A) Does he have Premier league experience as a manager
B) Is he out of work.
If the answer is no to either of those 2 questions forget it

Re: Michael Carrick
Ordinarily this would be a risk.

But it;s a much greater risk sticking with the dinosaur Moyes.

I would take him 100% over Moyes right now.

I'd probably take 50% of the Championship managers over Moyes too, but to be fair to Carrick he has been immense with Boro since he took over: P19 W14 D1 L4.

Re: Michael Carrick
has carrick failed at multiple clubs? does he drink pints of wine? is he an egocentric narcissist? if no, then I'm afraid he won't be considered

Re: Michael Carrick
If you look at our managers in the PL era who were ex-players, I'd take Redknapp, Brooking, Curbs and Bilic over Moyes, Allardyce, Grant, Zola, Roeder, Pardew and Pellegrini.

Re: Michael Carrick
wd. Ancelotti and Zidane haven’t been too shabby when they went back to their clubs. But at our level the odds of success are just too long.

X players managing the teams they played for never ever works out.

Re: Michael Carrick
I'd take him. What he has done there is brilliant. He suits everything as a long term appointment for us imo too. Ex academy player that would utilise our youth and fit well with Noble in his role.

Sadly I think he is better there. It might be too much to risk coming here with the damage that has been done by Moyes. He'd could become a legend at Boro and a relegation with us could be damaging to his progression.

I posited this a couple of weeks back. I think the Belgium geezer would be ahead in my best of the up and comers
